Hello there! As In-house Beauty Expert here at Liz Earle, I’m delighted to be sharing my very first blog with you. I’ll be keeping you updated each month with news about what I’ve been up to (my job means I get to do a lot of travelling, and attend some exciting events), as well as my favourite beauty and lifestyle hints and tips!

Unlike most, I actually love that ‘January’ feeling – the start of a new year always gives me a real buzz. While the rest of the population spend the month hiding away, I like to plan trips, enjoy a bit of me-time and go on long walks, looking out for the snowdrops and crocuses that bring with them the promise of spring!

Here’s what I’ve been up to this month…

What I’m reading: Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela.  A true inspiration – and I always need to read the book before seeing the film.

What I’m wearing: My new jacket from Whistles (a very special Christmas present). I’m also really enjoying looking at the new Spring/Summer 2014 collections – especially a pastel mohair coat from Zara!

What I’m planning: Ibiza! Not my usual holiday destination but I’ve been meaning to go for years, so I’m planning a girls’ trip with Nina, one of my best friends.  I can’t wait to see the hippie markets (I’m a hippie at heart!) and enjoy cocktails while watching the sunset.

This month’s lifestyle tip: I saw an article online recently about a lady who drinks three litres of water a day – not only did this inspire me to do the same, but I am sharing her story with everyone!  The results were amazing, her skin looked incredible and fully supported the article’s title Ten Years Younger. It really made me see how easy it is to do too. So if you see me out and about I will be carrying a large bottle of water!

This month’s skincare tips: Massage, massage and more massage!  2-3 minutes every time you cleanse (twice a day of course) will help boost circulation and lymphatic drainage, leaving you not only looking great (as you massage away all that December overindulgence) but feeling good too.
Focus on upward and outward circular movements all over the face and neck.

My second tip – exfoliation. Known to brighten and improve the texture of the skin, start the year as you mean to go on and use our Gentle Face Exfoliator 70ml 2-3 times per week (please note, Gentle Face Exfoliator is not recommended for sensitive skin).  I use mine first thing in the morning before I hop into the shower and wash my hair – the perfect start to the day, and your make up glides onto the skin after using it too.

This month’s make up tip: Healthy Glow Cream Blush is my year-round beauty cheat to a radiant complexion!  At the moment I’m wearing shades Nude and Nectar.  Apply to the apple of the cheek and blend in a teardrop shape towards the ear.

As January comes to an end I like to review my resolutions and start planning my birthday celebrations for February… stay tuned for my next (birthday!) blog. Oh, and if you see me in store, please do come and say hi and share your hints and tips!

Best wishes,

Sarah x
