With innovative nail trends causing as much of a buzz during Fashion Week as the accessories and make up, it’s no surprise that creative nails will be the ultimate style statement this season. I just love how a couple of clever licks of standout polish are all you need to work a key trend and update your look.
My go-to wearable trend from the shows has to be ‘Cashmere Nude’ – combining two subtle tones added alluring contrast and a touch more adventure to the classic natural nail look. Try coating your entire nail in delicate Grace 01 before applying a second slick of the warm neutral Quicksand 02, for understated glamour with a twist.
For those seeking a little more drama, try this season’s modern take on the French manicure with a ‘Graphite French’ – just combine two deeper tones with the darker just at the tip. From clever contrasting to vibrant clashes, the beauty of the two-tone look is that there really are no rules! My favourite is Grey Dawn 04 with a slim line of Rhapsody in Blue 12.
Finally, and always a firm favourite of mine, bright orange ‘Colour Pop’ was huge. Don’t be afraid of it being too bold – wearing this lively shade on well-conditioned hands brings skin tone to life and totally brightens up your day. Try a couple of coats of classic coral Bright & Breezy 05, and paint your ring finger nails in the equally fun Parade 06 for a stylish ‘colour clash’ contrast. Allow some drying time between each different colour coat so as not to merge colours in your brush.
